Cretaceous Persac: an immersion in the world of dinosaurs and crocodiles

A unique paleontological excavation site in Europe
Persac R VULLO

A 20-minute film recounts the research work of Xavier Valentin (PALEVOPRIM, Laboratoire de paléontologie de l'Université de Poitiers). During excavations in Persac (86, Vienne), he updated a unique site in Europe of fossils of Cretaceous plants and vertebrates, rare in the paleontological register at the world level, dating from a hundred million years ago.

Romain Vullo (CNRS, Géosciences Rennes) collaborates closely on this excavation and brings his expertise on the identification of fossil species, especially mammals, based on the analysis of teeth (see from 14:30).
